Friday Focus: from Media & Messaging to Cabaret

We are cookin'! Schools, Food and Community's roster of confirmed speakers, workshops and collaborators is growing every day. Interviewing our presenters and collaborators is contributing enormously to our own energy for this conference, and we hope it's contagious. Please join us!

Due to popular demand, this year we have expanded our annual Spring Saturday conference to start on Friday. Newly confirmed Friday speakers include Melinda Hemmelgarn, Kellogg Food and Society Policy Fellow, and Jane Park, Sesame Workshop, for the Opening Plenary Session, Media and Messaging, at 5:30pm.

Beginning at 3:00 pm, there will be interactive in-depth workshops: starting a NYC school garden; integrating cooking into the science curriculum; a screening and discussion of the rousing documentary 2 Angry Moms; hands-on evaluation design; and the Learn Green NYC Youth Forum (by special registration only).  Visit our site for more details and a sneak preview of Friday evening's networking reception and cabaret featuring performances with educational attitude!

Schools, Food and Community is made possible through our relationships with organizations and individuals working in the field to improve the food environment for children and youth both in school and out through programs, policy advocacy, and financial support. We welcome you and your organization's participation as a Conference Collaborator and Resource Fair exhibitor or Sponsor.

Please contact us.  We want to hear from you!
